[UPHPU] alternate views for MySQL monitor (viewing many columns)

I seem to remember someone showing me a way to display query results in
MySQL monitor (terminal) in a special way that allowed you to see a lot of
rows and columns easier. Anyone know anything about that? For example, if
you are only selecting two or three columns from the table then it will
usually fit across your terminal window without wrapping, but if you are
selecting *, then it gets ugly. It seems like there was a flag or something
that you could use that would display the results in grouped blocks of
horizontal rows or something.
