I wish your friend luck.  My experience with osCommerce has been that
anyone who is experienced enough to tackle their project is also
experienced enough to know to stay away from their project.  I hate to
be a pessimist, but osCommerce has an unfortunate but well-earned
reputation for being difficult to modify.

Then again, my experience with osC is old.  Hopefully they've changed.
